Putting a Stop to Bullying

Image
There needs to be an end to bullying. NO child should feel scared or uncomfortable to go to school. It is not the responsibility of the child, the parents or the teachers. It is the responsibility of everyone everywhere. Bullying comes in many different ways. For examples there's cyberbullying, teasing, physical abuse, and mental/emotional abuse. Not one of these types of bullying is worse than the other in my opinion because they all end with pain. Not only can bullying affect a child's mental and physical health but it may also effect their academics. Bullying can lead to depression, and suicide. It should never get that far. School should be a safe place. Parents are sending their children to school all day every day and they should do it knowing their child is going to be safe.                " The National Association of School Psychologists estimates that over 160,000 students miss school each day because they fear being bullied." School Is No Place For Violence

School violence has been seen and still is seen throughout the US and it is absolutely sickening. The horrifying fear that students and teachers could not come home  from school should not exist. As teachers our jobs are to keep the students safe. The motivation to make a change is huge but we still see the issue. More should be done in schools to prevent this type of violence or any type of violence. I was really disturbed by some of the things mentioned and how some

Blog #1- Gender and Sexual Orientation

There are hate crimes and problems of bullying seen everywhere, especially in the education system. Students find themselves being discriminated or hated on for their race, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Changes need to be made, because there is no reason a child should fear to go to school because of who they are.  The issue is inequality. People need to understand that before anything else we are at first human beings. The color of one’s skin should not determine the education they receive or the person they are. Stereotypes and bias thinking cannot be made against anyone of different race or ethnicity. Education Weekly says "In a review of 472 verified accounts, we found that most incidents that took place in schools between January 2015 and December 2017 targeted black and Latino students, as well as those who are Jewish or Muslim." (Vara-Orta, 2018). "Most of the incidents—some of which were formally reported to school personnel—involved hate speech
